I seem to get kind of a manic reaction when I take klonopin for my general anxiety. Can anyone shed some light on this? Could this mean that I am also bi-polar.

That's kind of a rare reaction but it does happen. When you have a manic response to a medication it does not mean you're bipolar, especially with klonopin which is often used as a secondary mood stabilizer. Take care, Judy

I'm so glad to see your post on this. I also get a hyper reaction from a higher dose of Klonopin. Asked this question a few weeks ago and got no helpful answers. I do sometimes have paradoxical reactions to meds and am probably Bipolar II, from current evidence of how certain meds (ADs) affect BPIIs, but I've never heard of the Klonopin thing before.
I'm currently going through a very stressful time and would love to gobble a few more K's and just zonk out and forget life for a few hours, but it makes me feel even more wired. Ain't fair.
