Dr Kramer,
After trying prothiaden, celexa, zooloft (all of these worked when I took them previously) paxil, remeron and now prozac and lithium (none of which are working now), my psychiatrist intends putting me on Effexor. I know that effexor is supposed to be a potent antidepressant but I am concerned that it is just another SSRI and I'll respond in the same way as I have to the others.
Can you advise please?
Denise

In reply to Dr Kramer:Tricyclics, SSRIs Lithium next effexor, posted by Denise528 on April 2, 2002, at 12:35:47
Hi again...
Effexor is an SSRI at low dose, but becomes Noradrenegric at higher doses (>150mg). It's a safe, effective med.
This is the end of the thread.
