I believe I was put on tranxene (7.5 mg) twice daily for anxiety and help with sleep. I succesfully weaned off the morning dose and was told by my family doc that tranxene can cause depression so it would be a good idea to get off it completely. I started my depression with an anxiety attack and I think it has helped with that, but restfull sleep is what I need. I have been on the tranxene for over 8 years. Is there something in the new meds out there that is used in place of tranxene? Thank you

Sure. The Tranxene lasts a relatively long time. Ask your doc for some Ambien, or Sonata. They put you to sleep and then get out of your body. Taper tranxene slowly (cut pills in half, take evey other day, etc) to stop. 8 years is a long time.
