Dreadfully sorry about the acne problem. That is definitely a nuisance...
If you consider the emotional benefit of the Trileptal to outweigh the side-effects of the drug then definitely stick with it.
Doctors have found that oral antibiotics such as tetracycline help with acne. Also, some psychiatrists have used paroxetine (Paxil) for acne too {JAACAP May 2001, IMPROVEMENT OF ACNE IN DEPRESSED PATIENTS TREATED WITH PAROXETINE}.
