Nicain-like reaction -- Wellbutrin, Buspar?

Posted by ethan on February 1, 2002, at 17:13:04

Has anyone who has used either Wellbutrin or Buspar (or the combination) experienced a sensation after taking the medication that I can only describe as a similar sensation to the prickly, tingly, fuzzy feeling one has from taking Niacin? This is annoying me, and is only a recent phenomenon even though I have been on the medications for some time now (if it were a standard side effect of either or the combination I would have suspected it would show up initially rather than later, as most side effects would).

Is this a foreshadowing of seizure?

Been digging in the threads about Buspar and Wellbutrin, and am wondering if possibly the side effect I'm experiencing is what may eventurally wind up being a seizure (which I do NOT want). If this "reaction" to either or both of these drugs (the Wellbutrin esp.) sounds familiar to you please advise.

Anything's possible (seizures can present in diverse ways, and I don't pretend to know all of them), but it could be something different altogether -- it sounds like a sort of generic side effect to me. (Disclaimer: I'm not entirely sure what you mean, never having taken niacin supplements myself.)

I suggest talking to your doctor about it, if you're really concerned.
