Hi I'm currently taking 300mg Effexor XR and 750mg twice a day of Depakote for anxiety and depression. I've been taking them for about 3 years and while it has helped me alot I feel I'm at a stand still and not getting any better. I've tried Xanax and has on that for a couple of years. My old doctor thought it would be fun to put my on a highly addictive drug for a long period of time.. I digress. I've tried other things but nothing has worked that great. I talked my doctor and now they are going to put me on Zyprexa 2.5mg to see how that work. I originally talked to him about Serzone but he said he thought the Zyprexa would be better. I'm still staying on the Effexor and Depakote for now to see what happens. Has anyone taken Zyprexa for anxiety? Did it help? What are the side effects? I've heard about weight gain but you get that with Effexor and Depakote any way.

The only thing which seemed to help was Zyprexa, it was truly a God Send, although it didn't lift the depression it gave me calmness within a few hours (but I had to take at least 5mg). I've weaned myself off the Zyprexa now and find that I no longer need it, however, it's nice to know that it is still there if needed. Of course we are all different and it may not work the same way for you but it definately got me out of some devastating situations, I don't know what I would have done without it. I did find that sometimes it made me feel a bit flat but at least that was better than the anxiety which I was experiencing.

Did it make you really tired? Because I started talking it on Friday and have been sleeping pretty much since then. Also did you get any nausa from it?
