Effexor is considered a "dual-acting" anti-depressant, working both as an anti-depressant and anti-anxiety agent. I understand that at doses lower than 220 mg qd Effexor performs like any other SSRI, and that a dose of 220 mg qd or greater is required to obtain it's anti-anxiety benefits. Would appreciate any input regarding 220 mg qd being the minimum therapeutic dose for Effexor. Thanks.

I always thought that 75 of Effexor made it only an SSRI. 150-300 mg makes it noradrenergic And 375 mg of it makes it dopaminergic.

I heard it was 150mg and then it becomes Noradrenergic?? One problem is that these studies on binding are done in Vitro (testube) and not in Vivo (your body).

In my very subjective opinion, antianxiety effect is there for me at 150. I guess it's all relative but seems to me I am pretty laid back these days. :-)
