Happy New Year!
Here it is 1:15 AM on January 1, 2002 and I have had 3 glasses of champagne (not a habit for me). I am pretty much ready to go to bed, but am wondering if I should skip my dose of Klonopin (1 mg) tonight (well, really this morning) because of the alcohol. I know this question won't be answered tonight, but maybe it will be of use for another time or perhaps for someone else with the same question. Just how much alcohol can one safely consume and still take your regular dose of Klonopin? I will forego my dose tonight because I definitely feel a buzz, but I sure hope I don't get a terrible withdrawal reaction!! Maybe ringing in the New Year wasn't such a great idea after all!! Thanks. AnneL

Thats very individual ! Mostly the sedative effect of benzos are increased with alcohol. Sometimes interactions with liver enzymes are to be considered. Personally I dont bear alcohol with any psychoactive drug. I had really bad reactions after two beers and Paxil instead there are people who dont have trouble.
