HI all, this is my first time posting here, but it's rather an emergency. I am only keeping my sanity becuase of the thoughts of my upcoming vacation (first in seven years) to Mexico (the Yucatan penninsula), cancun is the biggest city but i won't be staying there long. I need to find somewhere to get my methadone, since my doc and nurses are IDIOTS who don't give a shit about me and tell me essentially that i'm shit out of luck if i don't find anythign on my own, which means either severe and crushing depression and angony and illness, or finding DRUGS instead. If anyone knows anything about getting methadone in mexico, please do let me know. EMERGENCY. i implore you all. unending gratitude for your responses. thanks in ahead. kathleen

Hey Kathleen. I went to Mexico once as an opiate addict and obtained Percocet with no problems in Ciudad Juarez. I do not know if it would be difficult or not to get Methadone, however. I just asked a cab driver about the possiblity of obtaining prescription painkillers without a script and in less than half an hour I had 40 Percocets. I hope you will find what you need. Have a great vacation.

Back to scott - how much pain killers were you taking before you left. My methadone is = to 100mg of morphine three or four times a day. I'm so screwed since my dumb methadone clinic told me this morning that methadone was ILLEGAL in Cancun and that they'd most likely throw it down the sink at the border. my options become smaller. I'm left with: smuggle methadone into cancun and possibly never return to canada?? find a quack to prescribe me TONS of morphine and waste all my vacation money (where your percocet expensive???), or do a crazy rapid detox right now and be sooooooooo sick for a week and most likely lose my job. shit. life stinks. especially since it was looking good when i thought i was going to mexico for FUN, and not PAIN.

you can get just about any opiate legally in cancun including oxycotin so I would not worry

But will oxycotin be strong enough to rival the = to 100mg of morphine four times a day (or my stupid dose of methadone which is 120 mg a day). i hate the fact that i'm addicted to this shit, at least when i was addicted to other stuff i knew i could withdraw in a week (with this shit it's like three weeks of hell, and i don't even have that long, let alone the will). What is oxycotin and how strong is it?? i just need to get enough to not make me die while in Cancun, and not land me in jail, and not use up every cent of my vacation cash. please help. k

oxycotin is the strongest pain killer on the market today it comes in 20,40,60,80 and 120mg
it is way stronger than Methadone. I would sugest
looking it up on the net.

Check out Buprenex. It's a Schedule V analgesic,
and supposedly is very effective as a substitute
for methadone. You may be able to get it in
Mexico without a prescription. It is available
in the U.S. for any condition OTHER than opiate
withdrawl, such as pain or depression (you can
do a Search in Psychobabble to find out more. It
can be taken intranasally.

Kathleen,No, I was not on Methadone when I went to Mexico and was acutally opiate-free. But you know how cravings are. By doing what I did I was not only getting my beloved pain killers, but I was also living out a sick fantasy that I have had ever since seeing the movie "Midnight Express" when I was a kid. I got a major rush walking back across the border with those pills in my posession. By the way, the percocets cost me $80.00 plus a little juice to the cabbie who took me where I needed to go. Probably, and at a much lower dose if you're taking pills -- oxycodone has better bioavailability than morphine when taken orally.
OxyContin isn't the "strongest pain killer" available, but it is one of the stronger ones that are given to outpatients.
Sublingual buprenorphine (pills that you take by dissolving them under your tongue) is sold in Mexico, under the brand name Temgesic. It might be easier to get, and it doesn't appear to have significant withdrawal symptoms, so people often use it to detox.
