Ritalin in combination with Clomipramine

Posted by S33ker on October 28, 2001, at 11:26:43

Has anyone tried this combination?
Itīs supposed to work well as the Ritalin potentiates Clomipramine (Anafranil).
Because of that, my doc has put me on only 25mg Clomipramine per day. The normal average dosage is somewhere around 150mg/day. She said that people responded to as little as 10mg in this combination.

Anyone who tried this, please respond how it worked out for you and whether you were on as little as 25mg Clomipramine per day!

Thanks,
Ingo

I'm trying something similar, a combination of a small dosage of a stimulant (dextroamphetamine; I've tried Ritalin before) and clomipramine. At 25 milligrams of clomipramine, nothing has happened. Last week, I was told to go up to 50 milligrams of clomipramine. No positive mood changes so far; plenty of unpleasant anafranil side effects, though.

Hi!
thanks for the reply, itīs very encouraging ;-)
Unfortunately, I havenīt had much improvement either, so far but I will try to raise the dosage to around 100mg and see if that does anything other than giving me a dry mouth and other annoying side-effects.
It sounded so promissing when I read about this combination, and it really must be for most people.
For me though, it looks like I became "immune" to AD's after I had some _very_ good experience with SSRI's a couple years ago.
Too bad.

Ingo
