I've just upped my dosage of effexor to 150 mg per day taken twice at 75mg, which has helped me out a great deal... No more withdrawl feeling around 7pm in the morning after a full day on only 37.5mg... i take it once in the morning, and once at 8:00pm...Now I've had this problem before regardless of the dosage, and for some reason I think it has coincided with alcohol, and even ambien has not kept it from happening...
What will happen, and I have read some comparitive posts here that echo the same sentiments is that I will wake, usually around 4:00am in the morning as if I had missed a dose, but I know that I hadn't... I'm taking Geodon as well, at 40mg at night (i have a hard time remembering to take this for some reason, but it's never given me problems before when i miss)... anyways you wake and your stomach feels like worms, your head feels like a hornets nest and you generally feel wired and not 'numb' but the tingly feeling you get on your skin... probably took 1mg of xanax then to try to fall back to sleep, into the most bizzare dreams, on and off sleep, when i wake i dont feel completely devistated, as if i had only got 4 hours of sleep but i still do feel completely knackered, w/ stomach cramps and a headache... the 'numbness' having generally gone away... oh yes, and i took an effexor at about 7:30 in the am, to to try to see if that had an effect...
I do think that effexor is the right drug for me, i dont generally have problems w/ it, but occassionally these instances of waking at night are horendous... I'm not sure what causes them, and I'm not sure what the best method of abating them is....
Any ideas and insight is greatly apprecated...

I remember when I took Effexor a couple a years ago I had the same problem of waking up in the middle of the night and the bed full of sweat. I also had weird dreams/nightmares. The med never worked for me so I switched to Remeron which helped my depression.

Hi Kid,
Probably probs due to recent increase.
When I was on 150 the night sweats and waking was pretty bad for a bit.
Now I'm on 225 and sleep okay and no sweating.
Sometimes what I eat has effect little food just rushes the effexor through system quickly and I get withdrawals after 6 hours I usually chew a couple of balls- tastes yuck- does the trick.
Why you taking 2 pills instead of one once a day.?
This is the end of the thread.
