Why are Nardil and Klonopin the only drugs that help my atypical depression? Is there anything else that comes close to these two drugs?
Thanks.

Hi Pat,
Parnate and Selegiline would be the other
meds in the class of Nardil to potentially
help with the atypical depression. They
are all MAO-B inhibitors, which increases
dopamine. They probably lean towards being
more stimulating than Nardil.
A stimulant like Adderall would help with
atypical depression symptoms also.-john

I thought Selegiline was the selective MAO-B inhibitor, while Parnate and Nardil worked on both MAO-A and MAO-B?
If MAO-B increases Dopamine, what does MAO-A increase?
I heard Moclobemide is useless, and this is a selective MAO-A inhibitor. Have you heard anything good about it?
Thanks.
Pat
