Hi,
I was wondering if its ok to take antihistimines with prozac ? I have some eczema but it seems to be getting worse and i seem to be getting a few hives as well. I know that if you get a rash you are supposed to stop taking it......but i can't bear the thought of being depressed again, i am just starting to feel a little bit better ! Anyway your opinion would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks.

None of them objected and one of them was the one who first recommended I try it as a sleep aid. I have also had hives in the past and have even been prescribed Prednesone with no problems. What is the antihistamine you need to take? If it's Benedryl(dyphenhydramine) you will be fine. Collette

You need to determine what is causing your rash before you think about stopping your Prozac. I had hives back when I was taking Prozac a few years ago (I had been taking it for about 7 years), and I was convinced the meds were causing my rash and I started switching to meds that didn't work as well. A trip to an immunologist (finally!)found that the rashes were being caused by molds/dustmites not meds. See your PCP and get their opinion and maybe allergy testing before you stop meds.
