Hi,
i have never felt so crap in my life !! I took 75mg of effexor for 7 days and then came off. I have the worst sore throat, fatigue.........feelings of just wanting to crawl out of my skin..its nasty.
Today, 4 days later i am starting prozac 10mg. My doctor has given me a months prescription. Do you think that 10mg is going to work to ease my depression ? It seems that most people are on 20mg.

When I came off of Effexor.... I went thru that pure hell you are talking about. After about 6 days.... I couldn't take it anymore and asked people on this board for suggestions. I did what was recommended.... and took 10 mgs of prozac for a couple days. That was to get me off of effexor. I wasn't intending on going back on another AD again. Are you asking about the mg of prozac to get you off of effexor.... or to use it as your regular AD?

Thanks for responding ! I am going to be using 10mg prozac as my regular AD, i wondered how effective this would be.

20 mg is the usual starting dose but some people do pretty good on 10mg. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks to completely build up in your blood since it has a long half life. I'm sure that your doctor is planning to raise your dosage IF the 10 mg is not enough to ease your symptoms.

AMAZINGLY. I was having the worst withdrawal, every symptom imagineable... within 2 days of 10mg prozac, I was fine.
