I am taking Serzone for a mix of insomnia, anxiety and depression. Serzone seems so good on paper, but it gives me anger an insomnia.
So, I was thinkning of trying Remeron:
Can I switch directly from Serzone?
What dosage do you recommend?
Whats the latest on the weight gain issue? Is it possible to avoid?
Pardon my english.....I am from Denmark

Serzone made my sleep problems worse too. Weird, since it's supposed to be a little bit sedating!

A lot of people seem to find that Remeron has milder side effects (less sedation, and possibly less weight gain) at higher doses. My pdoc says he starts people at 30 mg and they seem to tolerate it better at 30 than at 15 mg. I started at 30 and rapidly increased to 60, and I didn't notice any side effects at all.

I didn't have a problem with it. I have heard of some people using Topamax and/or Wellbutrin to cancel out the weight gain.

I think you should be able to do that. I am on Serzone now and have not yet gotten off of it so don't know if I will have to be weaned off. You might ask your doctor.

I was on Remeron for more than 2 years and was started at 15mg, moving to 30 and 45. I found more sedation with a higher dose.>

I gained weight with Remeron buut was able to halt the gain by modifying my diet and exercising more, but I was able to lose weight when I started on Wellbutrin. The most weight came off when I dropped Remeron altogether and kept on the Wellbutrin. We added Serzone to the Wellbutrin more than 8 months ago and have not found a weight problem.
