After being on multiple AD's over the years, I have currently been on varying doses of Remeron over the last 6 months. I want to stop the meds and try to depend on therapy. Each time I try to taper the dose below 7.5 mg I get extreme nausea and very jittery and anxious. Anyone else have similar reactions? Any suggestions would be very welcome.

I wish I could help. I had no problem stopping Remeron. Have you tried taking 7.5 mg every other day?? Could there be other factors such as drinking a lot of beverages with caffeine that could be causing this?
Good luck.

> Good luck. Thanks for your reply. I don't think there are any other factors. It's just that whenever I try to stop I feel lethargic, fluish, nauseaus and very anxious and jittery. I usually have to go back on the low dose to get these symptoms to remit. I wish I could quit and feel OK again. Maybe I have to put up with these symptoms for a more prolonged period and not give in to starting again??

You might try adding some OTC diphenhydramine and/or meclizine to combat the nausea and jitteriness while you taper the Remeron down.
