I paged the pdoc- will have to try clozaril-

Posted by Karen Curtis on October 23, 2001, at 18:59:17

Hi all- well, the geodon increase to 160 has not helped my son, Evan. :( He was more paranoid today than he has been, and it is a week since the geodon increase to the max dose of 160. I have a call in to the pdoc, and we will probably switch tommorow. The pdoc will most likely take Evan off the lithium before we start the clozaril, or, we will get it down to 600. It hasn't done much anyways. Evan is taking depakote and is titrating up on lamictal- very very slowly. Thankyou Chloe and Cam for your intelligent, well thought out posts concerning the clozaril. Thankyou Cam! Actually, the pdoc wants to try increasing seroquel first- he has been on that drug, at night, but it was too weak to use alone. We are titrating the lamictal and then maybe in a couple of weeks we will try the clozaril. I am glad it is available for Evan if needed, and the pdoc feels that side effects other than the reason for weekly blood tests, are individual, and Evan may do well on it. I will keep you all posted. Karen Curtis
