I suffer from panic disorder, sleep deprivatioin, major depression and social phobia. I believe my anxiety is dopamine driven;

Meds im currently on are remeron, xanax and desipramine.I want to add zyprexa? Will this help with dopamine excess?
And Neuronitn? Will this even out my up and down moods.

> genoGeno, don't know if this will help but desipramine tends to boost dopamine levels. I was tried on it for a while and my attentional problems lifted, but I got really edgy and jumpy on it. Maybe your pdoc might consider lowering it or switching to a less activating TCA like nortripytline.

Zyprexa helps some people with anxiety or agitation, but in general it's not an anxiolytic. The name "major tranquilizer," which has been used in the past to refer to antipsychotic drugs such as this one, is misleading: it's not simply a stronger version of Xanax.
Zyprexa is not an effective medication for panic disorder or social phobia.

Neurontin can help with some types of mood swings.
