I posted about a month back in regards to Effexor, and the fact that it didn't make me feel any differnt, either good or bad. I wanted to thank everyone who helped me out!
I am now on Wellbutrin SR, 300 mg per day. I feel like it has changed my life, or given me back my old life. It is a god send.
However, I have two side effects that I wanted to ask about. I have the worst taste in my mouth all day long. So much that if I don't have a mint or gum in my mouth I feel sick. Second, my hands shake.
These 2 effects won't make me go off the drug, I just wondered if they were common, and if they went away.
I've been on Wellbutrin for about a month.
Thanks!

I have taken Wellbutrin for 2+ years. Your taste perception may be due to the cotton-mouth effect common to WB. Try to drink a lot more water, and perhaps you will not be as sensitive to that effect. As to tremor, I'm afaid that doesn't seem to abate over time. However, I have found that knowing that it is a side effect of WB as opposed to some other problem makes it tolerable. You will also, most likely, have trouble sleeping, and will also most likely lose weight, which is one good side effect (unless you are already thin). Overall, it is a good AD med.

Maybe you need to go see a dentist about that taste in your mouth.
The gold standard for tremor is Inderal. I took it while on Wellbutrin and had no side-effects from it.

A friend of mine is on Wellbutrin 300 mg/day and has VERY shaky hands - it is less noticeable sometimes, but apparently does not usually go away.

My hands shook badly when I first went up to the full dose - in fact, all of me was shaky! - but it settled down within a week and now only happens when I'm really stressed.
This is the end of the thread.
