If you could look at a molecular diagram of Modafinil and Adrafinil, they look practically identical, with only the tiniest seemingly insignificant difference.I have tried both, and in reality they feel like two totally very different drugs. Modafinil for me was horrible. Yet Adrafinil for me is great. I find Adrafinil to be a much milder and yet much more effective medicine. And while Modafinil had a ton of side effects and nasty feelings, Adrafinil has none, for me.
Another big difference is the cost. Adrafinil is dirt cheap, Modafinil is very expensive. It's just my experience, but Adrafinil is by far my favorite. I hated Modafinil. There have been a couple people however who liked Modafinil a lot.
If you read about the mechanism of action of a commonly prescribed drug like Wellbutrin, they really don't know what it does or how it works. They offer some theories, but no one knows for sure. Well, it's the same with Adrafinil and Modafinil. I couldn't tell you exactly how they work. I do think however that Adrafinil is more specific in turbocharging norepinephrine chemistry by making alpha-1 receptors more responsive to noradrenaline, or making those receptors easier to bind to. Something like that. Modafinil on the other hand I believe has other mechanisms involving dopamine and who knows what else.
It's all just guesswork in reality. I can't tell you the exact differences between Modafinil and Adrafinil, only that one might work super while the other is horrible. They are supposedly similar on paper, but in reality not.

is because I tried Modafinl and hated it too. It caused my heart rate to be elevated, and actually made me feel more depressed. Sounds like the Adrafinl might be worth a try. Thanks again.
