I feel good!.............like I knew that I would

Posted by Cruz on September 8, 2001, at 17:47:20

Maybe after well over 20 years of suffering while I searched for something to escaped this nightmare of what now is called depression but in my form will be eventually diagnosed as an endocrine disorder and will be treated by an endocronologist. Last fall and winter I used amisulpride and it helped a little bit but it was'nt great. Then like I have done for many years I take Parnate in the spring and it works very well but only for 3 months. After it quite working in july I switched to 50 mg of amisulpride with 400 mg of DHEA, I think it works slightly better than amisulpride alone. The big breakthough is the one dose of Ketoconazole I took earlier this week. I really feel at my best. It will take some experimenting to see how low a dose I can get by on. I will keep you posted. I'm even in a good mood after my misadventure today, then haveing to go through 3 FAA interviews, and writing a statement and makeing up a map to go with it.
Here's what happened. I was attempting a short training flight this morning, but the commuter plane I was given clearance to taxi behind had their radio off(against regulations) and when I was half way past them they did an engine test at full throttle. Well it blew my little rented Cessna 172 over and scewed it up pretty bad. The fire department had to come out and rescue me. The control tower could'nt make contact with the commuter plane and a fireman finally got their attention and they throttled down. What a missadventure.

I'm still quite encuoraged by my new treatment. I would'nt doubt there are many others
who have a disorder similar to mine and could respond postively as I have. I'm a little surprised I have not gotten much interest from my post from people enquireing to what I have found. Oh well, everyone has to travel their own road. Just trying to be helpfull. Good luck!

Perhaps it is the subject? People not interested in what may seem on the surface a less serious subject? Have changed it as a mini-social experiment. :)

Good luck back to you my friend.

How do you know you have an endocrine disorder?
What are your symptoms? Did you know amisulpride
increases prolactin levels that could have a lot
to do with you having an edocrine disorder?
Also, what dose of amisulpride are you on?
Sorry for all the questions but I just started
amisulpride and was wondering how long it takes to
work.

So good!.............So good!.............

I'm takeing 50 mg of amisulpride and 300 mg of DHEA. Those two barely help. But since I took the one dose of Nizoral(ketoconazole)over a week ago I feel splendid. It was allmost an immediate response. I am considering discontinueing the amisulpride and DHEA. Ma sa got hedjsan

I had a cortisol test. My cortisol tested high but not out of range. If your cortisol is still within range is it still possible to respond to ketoconisol? Unfortunatly I didn't have a Dexmethesone Suppression Test.

Is one dose of ketokonisol enough to know or does it sometimes take weeks?

I believe if you don't respond positively to ketoconazole within an hour after your first dose of it, you are not likely to benefit. By the way I responded positively to the Dex suppression test. At the time the endocronologist said there was not a treatment available to lower cortisol.
