Hello,
Thought I'd post this as a New Thread to see if anyone else had some information here ...
Andrew B. discussed the possibility of adding Memantine to Adderall to help keep Adderall from "pooping out" --
Has anyone out there taken Memantine before? Is it FDA approved yet? I did a small bit of research on the web, and it seems to still be in clinical trials. Also, does anyone know if it is safe to take with Prozac??
Another question -- is Selegiline safe to take with Prozac? Has anyone out there taken this combo? I read conflicting reports in the archives on this issue -- wondering if there are any new experiences, opinions, etc.
Thank you!

Sorry, I didn't follow your earlier thread, but I was and am concerned and curious because I have not heard of nor experienced a stimulant poopout. Have been on Dex for 3 years, have a friend same with Adderall.
I think I posted before, being on stimulants does not mean every day is fizzing with energy, It just brings the baseline of energy and mental alertness and clarity up to a much higher - and controllable - level. There's lots of reasons why fatigue could continue.
Lemme know if I can help!

Hi Zo,
Thanks for your reply ... I had never heard of "amphetamine poop-out" either until this board. A few people said it was common -- Andrew B's response was especially detailed as to how and why it could happen. However, I can definitely understand your point --fatigue does happen for a lot of reasons. The fatigue I experienced was a different kind of fatigue though; like a fuzzy-brained, dizzy exhausted ... I normally experience fatigue with my depression, but this was a bit different.
Anyway, I do appreciate your response. What else do you take for your CFS besides Dex? Or does the Dex do the trick for you?
Thanks again,

SSRIs, possibly any or them, but at least Prozac
and Celexa, prevent Adderall, Ritalin, or dexedrine
"poop-out".

I wonder if my dose of Prozac is too low right now to make a difference? I'm at 10 mg.
