Therapy of Lithium and Effexor commenced about a month ago.
Without 100 mg of Desyrel at bedtime, no drowse, no sleep. That gives me about 2 to 3 hours per night I seem to have lost ability to sleep. Are L and E responsible, or have I lost ability due to transmitter/receptor failure?

Todd, I have experienced insomnia from Effexor for which I had to take Restoril or xanax or both to get me to sleep, and even with that my sleep was not that restful. It slowly resolved over a few months time. Even now I still use xanax on occ. to help me sleep. Hope you find the same is true for you.
