Somnolence is listed as being present in 13-15% of people, according to clinical trials: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/sertral_ad.htm
But it didn't make me tired at all.> May try zoloft, does it make you sleepy?

I take zoloft 200 mg and have been on it for over 2 years. Here are my experiences:
First week: Headaches, hot flashes, mild anxiety, nausea.
These all disappeared after that first week.
(2nd-4th week in hospital for bipolar disorder)Later side effects:
- diarrhea (went away when I added wellbutrin)
- tinnitus (pretty bad)
- nausea for only 1 day each time dose increased
- headaches-bad ones (went away after about 6 months)
- hand, foot, and jaw tremor
- vivid dreams (kind of neat, actually)
- jaw clenching (reduced with time, but still a problem)
- dry, stinging eyes in evenings (reduced after 1 year)
- anorgasmia (very sensitive to dose. Did not occur at 100 mg; weak at 150mg; problematic at 175mg; complete at 200 mg) Med holiday works well for me.Benefits:
- helped depression
- put OCD into complete remission until just recently, but still very good.- Is it worth the side effects? YES, to me it is.
>does it make you sleepy?
I take other meds that make me sleepy, so I don't know to what extent zoloft contributes.

For me, it made me edgy, anxious, irritable, and agitated. And sometimes really happy and agitated.
Then my therapist said, "Um, I think what you're displaying is hypomania."
And I said "reallyno kidding? this is hypomania? heh, that's funny, I've been going in and out of these states two or three timesayearsinceIwas14! ahahah! hahah! "
Then it wasn't funny anymore.
It took care of my depression. It also removed my sex drive. My aunt can only tolerate it with Xanax and Trazadone at night.
It's my favorite SSRI, though. Prozac made me feel very strange. Paxil felt like nothing at all.
silly
