I've only been on Effexor for 6 weeks and I'm taking 75mg, once a day. I've noticed that I get a theraputic effect at low dosages of meds.

I have been on 150 mg for about a year and a half and I felt reasonably good on it. But I still felt I could do better. It did make me want to do things again, but I still felt too tired to actually do anything. So finally I convinced my doc to up my dose to 225 mg, to try and find out if I would benefit from the noradrenergic (=activating) effect of higher Effexor doses. That is 7 weeks ago now, and what a difference!!! I feel alive again! No more sadness, feeling unstable and tiredness from my dysthymia. I even feel good enough to go looking for a job again, for the first time in over 2 years. It seems to be terrible to try to come off of Effexor, but now I feel how good I can feel (for the first time in about 20 years) I think I may never ever want to try to live without it again. For me Effexor has really done miracles!

It is really good to hear about good experiences on Effexor. I guess people with the good experiences are out there enjoying life and not posting!
I also am not concerned right now about coming off this drug..when and if I do..I'm going to do it real sloooow.

>I've been on Effexor for several weeks and I feel so much better. I was scared to try it but now I'm glad I did. I felt better at 75mg but I felt the best at 225mg. I have more energy and a better attitude! When I first started I was very tired but as the mg.s were increased so did my energy. I have had very little side effects.
