I have been on Remeron for about 18 months for anxiety. It has worked great for my anxiety, but the weight gain is more than I can deal with. I have tried to go off the Remeron, but the anxiety returned (particularly nausea) and I started it again. I am curious if anyone has switched from Remeron to another medication that worked equally as well without the notorious weight gain? Early on I tried Paxil which served to just increase my level of anxiety.

Celexa has helped a lot with my anxiety but since Paxil did not help you, Celexa might not either. It's hard to say. For a lot of people, certain side effects on Remeron are lowered when the dosage is increased. Maybe you should check with your doctor about increasing your Remeron dosage (maybe to 60 mg) to see if it helps with the weight gain problem.
