I have tried sonata. why do you say if i did not have any past drug problems?? Is it a bad drug??
I need something for anxiety as well. thanks so much

Because of the relaxing nature of sleep-inducers, they can be habit-forming. Most [smart] doctors will not give them to you if you have a history of drug abuse or addiction. Some won't prescribe them at ALL. Especially benzodiazapines like Klonopin, Xanax and Valium.
Sonata and other hypnotics (sleep-inducers) aren't "bad drugs" exactly, it's just that they can be addicting if you take them every night for a long period of time or if you already have a history of addiction.
Use caution, consider using them just as-needed, etc. If you start having to raise your dosage just to get to sleep, you might want to talk to your doctor.
My story: I just started taking Seroquel on an as-needed basis. It's NICE, I take a teensy tiny dose, 1/12 of a regular dosage, and it puts me out for at least 4-6 hours.
It's AMAZING what a full night's sleep does for my mood. :)
But I can't help but be frustrated by my doctor's refusal to give me anything with even a tiny chance of addiction. She sees the Seroquel as the ONLY option, because it's the only one with no possibility of addiction even tho I have no history. So I hope it works for me in the long run. :/Hope this Helps....

sl do you mean 1/12 of a 25mg pill? If so, how do you cut it into twelfths??

(laugh) No, I meant 1/12 of 300mg, which is what you'll find if you look up "dosage". Half a 25mg pill. :)sl
