wellbutrin Xr and agitation/irritbilty

Posted by krista on July 17, 2001, at 21:18:22

Hi I have had depression my whole life. I recently swiched meds. I am taking Serzone. It hasd helped some with the depr4ession.
I feel very lethargic on the Serzone, but I am also Agitated and irritable at the same time
my doctor was thinking of trying wellbutrin xr. I'd tried wellbutrin regular before and had a bad experience. I am scared to
try it again. Sice it lists agitation and irritablity as a side effect I'm scared I'm going to lose
it like i did on the MAOI drugs. Some stimulationg drugs tend to drive me crazy! Can wellbutrin actually help with irritablitly?
I've taking several other drugs with the serzone like adderal and modafinal and they have all cause extreme agitation and hostility.
any info on wellbutrin helping instead of worsening agiitation woud be helpful

thanks,
krista

There's always the possibility of ADDING Wellbutrin SR. That way you'll have Serzone calming you, and Wellbutrin's energy. (well, that's the theory) You'd definately want the Sustained Release tho.

Krista, I tried Wellbutrin once for 10 days, it made me want to jump out of my skin. My head felt like it was floating inches from my head. It was too stimulating for me. I tried to stop smoking and was using Wellbutrin for that. I was also taking Prozac and the combination was not for me. I had insomnia and severe aggitation and couldn't sit still. I felt constantly high. I would like to say that that is a drug that I never intend to take again. I hope you find something to help.

Becky
