effexor poop-out?

Posted by dreamer on June 21, 2001, at 10:22:47

Oooh well here goes,
Took 75mg effexorxr for 2+ years ,or is it 3,anyway it just stopped working [got some worries but who hasn't]
so my doc increased it to 150 ,2 weeks ago .
Still crying like a baby worrying fighting negativity and suicidal ,disinterested and feeling hopeless.
But I have no bad dreams get wonderful orgasms and not sweating , all side effects I'd been living with gone so has it stopped working ?
If so whats next? Had all SSRI'S ,reboxetine I eat all the right food, exercise don't drink avoid stress yesterday I actually thought of trying heroin.
Any ideas before I cease to exist?

Hi. Sorry you're having a rough time. If the dose increase doesn't help after 3 wks, I would ask your doc about possibly augmenting the fxr with another AD. Remeron, Wellbutrin, Prozac just to name a few . I don't know what your dx is but a mood stabilizer might be worth a try. FXR is a little different in that as you increase the dose additional neurotransmiters are affected. Depending on what other symptoms you are experiencing there are a bunch of tx options available, so don't despair. Good Luck. Take care.

> Feeling much better :] I've reduced the reboxetine [vestra] that was supposed to combat tiredness from effexor. I'm going to stop completely me thinks it was doing more harm than good . Not so anxious/nervous and I'm actually less tired.
I'll use xtra strong coffee instead.
