Effexor effectiveness

Posted by Jocor on June 21, 2001, at 8:51:26

Hello,

I am new to this post and I would like some feedback on my current position.

Has anyone ever been on 300mg Effexor XR? I have been on it since March '01. At the beginning I felt great, no anxiety or obsessive thinking about my health. Then the obsessive thinking came back and some days I am still very depressed.

I have also been on Prozac ('90 - '95) before I changed to Effexor and then Effexor XR. With the Prozac I did not have recurring obsessive thinking or depression. I was very tired, however, which is why I changed meds.

Could this medication not be the right one for me?

Thanks for your input.

Jocor

OCD

I've been on it since September or October, and find that I still get bouts of improvement. Talk to your doctor, you may decide to increase the dosage.

I don't know much about OCD. But someone might be able to recommend something that has helped them or do a search and you should get some useful information.

I'm also seeing a psychologist and find the combination works.
