I take it once a day. It did START to work in less than six weeks for me. As always, your mileage may vary.

sal,

took it all at once at bedtime (when i was on serzone) and loved it. 350mg. seemed to work quickly. it's great stuff. definitely didn't take anywhere near 6 weeks! if you take it at bedtime it helps you sleep and you wake up without drowsiness or the drowsiness that can come with splitting the dose during daytime.

Well, when I took Serzone, it was once a day. At night, because it made me soooooo sleeeeepy I couldn't function in the day. In the morning, I took Wellbutrin--a real puppy-upper.

As usual, I'm going to respond to the topic but then veer a little bit off...

I take 300 mg Serzone and 1.0 mg Klonopin first thing in the morning. This would likely be a recipe for snooze-ville if I weren't also taking Provigil (usually 100mg) at the same time. It's often very difficult to get up in the morning (and not due to psychological issues), but an hour later I'm usually sharp and alert.

I take another 150 Serzone and .25 mg Klonopin around 2 pm. Ironically, I find that the later in the day I take Serzone, the more tired I get and the groggier I am the next morning. Taking it at bedtime is the worst for me. But this could all be related to the Provigil and its dosing schedule.

With regard to your other post, Serzone+Provigil seems to be a dynamite combo, although I'm taking the Provigil ongoing, not just as a temporary augmentor. But do note that I'm treating non-depressive social anxiety, not depression.

And I'm overdue for a liver test. With the possible CYP 450 interactions going on there, as well as the strong enzyme-related effects of Serzone (and perhaps Provigil -- see University's post), my combo should really be monitored.

I am glad to hear that others have success with once-a-day Serzone. I may try that too, but all in the a.m. instead of the more-common all-p.m. I can really *feel* the non-tiring (with Provigil) calming effect of Serzone with each dose, and that really helps me.

Interesting. I used to take the Serzone around 6 pm, because it was taking longer to really make me sleepy enough and also so that it would wear off by morning. However, when the dose was raised, I noticed that I got sleepy within an hour of taking it, so taking it at 6 was not practical at all. I started taking it an hour before bedtime, and it is fine now. Perhaps my sleep is better quicker, because I don't have any sedation effect left over in the morning. In fact, I wake up before my alarm clock and am fairly alert.
