I need some help on this delicate issue. I have taken Prozac in the past and have always stopped after a week or two because of anorgasmia. My pdoc wants me to titrate up super slow this time. I have started at 5mg. per day and already am experiencing numbing. Without getting too graphic I made love to my wife last night and did not really experience a delay in orgasm I just did not really feel the orgasm as if my body was working without the sensation. Now the million dollar question is have any of you had this numbing lessen or subside or is it going to get worse as the meds build up day after day in my system.

In reply to anyone need advice on prozac please, posted by gilbert on June 4, 2001, at 17:52:17
Yes, prozac has a very high rate of that particular side effect.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/fluoxetinesystemic202247.html#SXX18 But there are other alternatives. Why would you doctor insist on the antidepressant that makes you unhappy? Just be honest with him and ask him to prescribe another one. He'll switch you. Good luck.
