Does Celexa permanently damage your brain, like if you went off of it, you would become depressed again? I am mildly depressed and was prescribed Celexa, but am scared to take it. After your off Celexa, does your brain still block the absorption of serotonin?

at the doses you'd be likely to be prescribed, Celexa does not permanently damage your brain.
whether the depression comes back or not after the course of treatment depends on several factors all of them having to do with the etiology of depression in your case. sometimes depression comes and goes without any particular reason that we know of, in this case you should stay on the antidepressant as long as it takes for the remission to come.
if there was a known environmental or cognitive reason for the depression to set on, and you haven't dealt with it effectively, while on the antidepressant, your patterms of thinking and life situation will likely make the depression to come back.
even mild depression is not worth having it; however, with mild depression there is a wide variety of other treatments available. Vacations, therapy, change of family or work environment, sleeping, eating, studying, and socializing habits improvement, etc.
