Getting as close to 375 mg will do you the most good rather than dropping the Effexor right now, because at 300-375 mg Effexor has an effect on dopamine (perhaps this is the chemical that you need for sustained relief from your depression).

Hi. My daughter was on Effexor XR for over a year. She was on 225 mg. We noticed a gradual decline... sort of a recurrence of the depression which I attributed to the drug losing its effectiveness. She has been weaning for about 2 months now and, other than the withdrawal effects, she's doing 100% better. I would talk to your doc about changing if you believe it's been ineffective for that long. Good luck. Jerz
