People have asked what it feels like when an SSRI starts to work. For me I feel like I'm a jig-saw puzzle that's been put together again. Depression and anxiety makes me feel in bits, everything pulling in different directions. No wonder the relief makes us feel high (by comparison). Unfortunately I poop out very quickly (like less than a day). But the initial improvement feels unmistakable.

Fred,
Have you tried mood stabilizers? They may help.
