Not any major changes!

Posted by Matty Morgan on April 1, 2001, at 22:45:59

I have been on Effexor now for about 4 months, since I started I was first on 75mg and now on 150mg, the first few days I felt light headed and dizzy, but no serious effects. I dont feel any that it has helped a whole lot, I am still the same but just with a little more tolerence to things, I still dont think it has pulled me out of depression. The only side effect I have experienced is major night sweats, and occasional weird dreams. Can anyone relate?

At 150 mg, Effexor is basically an SSRI. But at higher doses, it affects norepinephrine and even dopamine--this might produce the antidepressant effect that you need. If you feel that the Effexor helps you at all with anything, perhaps you can augment it with some Remeron to create that "power combination" mentioned in the Tips (which is supposed to be as effective as ECT).

Profuse sweating is combattable with Urecholine (ask your doctor), and maybe someone else knows how to combat the dreams.

Ye. Push it even higher - you can get to as high as 300mg...
