When one refers to a pdoc, are they referring to a psychiatrist? Do you have to get a referral from your GP to see one? How does insurance handle it? I'm beginning to question how much my GP really knows about all of these meds. I mean, one patient is a newborn needing a vaccine, then he sees me and writes yet another Rx, and then his next patient could be an octogenarian who needs his prostate checked, ya know? So how to I go about seeing a Pdoc?

A Pdoc is a psychiatrist and you can probably get the name of one from you GP. I agree that you should see a psychiatrist to help manage your meds. A GP can only do so much. good luck!
