I'm so thankful to find this site. I've moved to a a remote area and the doctor that I have to use is a pediatrician and is only in the office once a week. Daily there is a nurse practitioner. She's glad to help me, but doesn't know AD.
I've been on 150 mg. Effexor for two years. The situations that caused depression are gone and I wanted to try to go off. I tapered down to 75 mg. daily, but my PMS was horrible! So, I figure I'm stuck taking an AD all my life. I left the dose at 75 mg. though and thought I'd see how the next monthly cycle went. Well, in the meantime I saw an ad for Wellbutrin and how it doesn't have the sexual side affects. So, I asked the nurse practioner to let me try it.
She talked to the doctor and started me on 100 mg. of Wellbutrin. But, my side-effects from coming off the Effexor are making me almost non-functional. I even get a head-rush when my eyeballs move from side to side!
Help! I looked in your archives and saw where someone suggested taking Paxil w/ Wellbutrin for a while.
PS Already the sexual side of things is greatly improved < grin >, but now I need to be able to think and go about my every day life.

Paxil would make the sexual side-effects come back. Look into Effexor + buspirone or Effexor + mirtazapine to get rid of the sexual side-effects. Mirtazapine did the trick for me; in fact, it even caused _premature_ ejaculation--something unheard of with Effexor or Paxil!
