In reply to what is an average therapeutic dose of paxil? (np), posted by ItsJustMe on March 28, 2001, at 16:28:12
20 mg taken by most; 10 mg works for a few, and some need 30 or 40 mg. Most people do well on 20 mg after starting a few days at 10 mg. I have a friend on 30 mg. 20 worked fine for me when I took it.

the "average dose" is 20mg, but it can go higher or lower depending on diagnosis (it's used for several things -- it would be higher for OCD) and response.
But 20mg is the "average" dose.
