Does anyone else get a stiff neck with celexa? I have been taking 40 mg for about 2 months and noticed a stiff neck after a couple of weeks. I should really appreciate any replies. Apart from that, Celexa has been wonderful for me and for combatting social anxiety and panic.

Just trying to add a little levity. I have experienced a stiff neck with some meds but not with celexa.

I have not had that problem with Celexa. I have done a lot of reading and have never heard of that side effect. I guess anything is possible so maybe it is the Celexa causing it. Or maybe something else. Since it is working for you, you should keep taking it and deal with the neck problem separately.
SSRI's can cause teeth grinding in some people. So I guess this "tension" side effect could also manifest as a sore neck. If Celexa is the culprit, hopefully this neck problem will go away as your body adjusts to the Celexa.

Yes, I had that when taking celexa. It was like
my neck held a lot of tension, and i had to work hard
at relaxing it.
I don't take celexa anymore, I take prozac. With the
prozac I got some of the jaw grinding stuff, but
somehow when I combined prozac with a mood stabilizer
(neurotin), that problem went away. I didn't take the
mood stabilizer for that reason, I took it for anxiety, which
I guess helped some of the tension in my body.
