Need to try deprenyl+phenylethylamine; but how?

Posted by Sparkboy on March 6, 2001, at 23:08:53

I was diagnosed with atypical depression about 14 years
ago. Parnate is the only drug that ever really worked
for me (including other MAOIs), but I developed tolerance
after 3 months and couldn't take it anymore. I'm interested
in the deprenyl+PEA approach, but I don't know how to
get PEA. Can anyone tell me about the availability of
PEA? Do I need to write to a university or something?
Thanks.

If you are speaking of phenethylamine (PEA)
This compound has been made industrially by a number of routes, the motant being the reduction of benzyl cyanide and the decarboxylation of phenylanaline. It is offered in the catalogs of all the major chemical supply houses for a few pennies per gram. It is a very strong base with a fishy smell, and rapidly forms a solid carbonate salt upon exposure to the air. It is a natural biochemical in both plants and animals, it shares a close chemical relationship to amphetamine and to the neurotransmitters.

Note that it is a precursor to many illicits so it may be watched or you have to show credentials
to buy it. PEA has zero abuse potential.
