Zithromax permanent side effects?

Posted by Irvin on March 4, 2001, at 13:30:54

I took Zithromax about 2 months ago (250 mg, 5 day regimen) for some flu-like symptoms following a trip to China. The symptoms disappeared, but I developed a stomach ache after use. Then I took Zithromax again recently, and quickly developed high fever, loss of appetite, fatigue, and vertigo. I wake up at night drenched in sweat and my right eye has started twitching since taking the second regimen. Does anyone know of permanent side effects to Zithromax? Or what Zithromax does to people when they don't need to take the medication? I was also taking Inderal (heart medication) at the same time. Any possible interactions between the two drugs?

The only caution that the manufacturer states is that Zithromax "should not be used with antacids."

Zithromax is my Dr. Father's drug of choice for infections.
