Trazadone and weight gain

Posted by Gene Lowery on March 2, 2001, at 7:41:35

I am new to Trazadone and had gained a lot of weight on Pamalor. I was wondering has anyone had good results with Trazadone and has anyone been able to keep the weight off with Trazadone?

I appreciate your help.

I think you would be much happier with trazodone's relative, nefazodone. Nefazodone has less weight gain, no anticholinergic or sexual side-effects. It also will get rid of anxiety and help you sleep.

But if you really want trazodone, then adding buproprion to it will help kill your appetite and control the weight gain.

Try nefazodone indtead. It has a similar effect, but less side effects.
