Is Vistaril (hydroxyzine) OK to take with Nardil??

My doctor just refused to make me out a prescription for Vistaril (hydroxyzine), which I had used before for anxiety with success. She called the pharmacy and supposedly their computer program showed a contra-indication. That doesn't make sense to me.

I think Vistaril is an antihistamine, which are
contraindicated in MAOI's.

Cyproheptadine would work just as well. I took it with Parnate. It is a BuSpar that tastes better. Average dose is 50-100 mg daily in three divided doses.

But it is listed as contraindicated if on a MAOI.
