Does anyone know if a low carb diet helps curb weight gain on Effexor? I gained 35 lbs the last time I was on it--it seemed mainly that I felt "compelled" to eat carbs. I could not lose weight on the drug. When I went off Effexor, I lost 35 lbs on a low carb diet, which has now become a Way of Life on a less stringest basis. While on the low carb diet, I've noticed that my cravings for carbohydrates have disappeared. So I'm wondering if a low carb diet would eliminate the weight gain action of Effexor--which I don't believe is metabolic so much as carb craving in origin.
This is the end of the thread.
