I been on prozac for a long time b/c it's one of the
few ad's that works really well on my depression without
any side effects--except one, and a big one--the sexual
side effects. I've heard some people claim that they
will try one ssri and get the sexual side effects and
then try another and NOT get them. I've always been
really suspicious of this though--I feel like if one
ssri gives you sexual side effects, than they all will,
to some degree. I'm taking a poll: are there some of
you out there that tried prozac, had sexual side effects,
switched to a different ssri, and didn't have sexual
side effects with that one?thanks!

Roo,
Unfortunately, all of the SSRIs gave me sexual side effects. The advantage of Celexa over Prozac was that I could take drug holidays on the weekends and get most of my sex drive back. Adding Viagra to Prozac helped too. Adding Wellbutrin, amantadine, and other antihistimines didn't. Good luck and hang in there!

Fortunately for the hubby I have been more "romantic" since the Zoloft...maybe it is because they helped get rid of my SPLITTING HEADACHES!

Roo, Your experience with Prozac sounds identical to mine. I switched to Serzone a few months ago and while I'm not thrilled with the AD effect, my sex drive and ability to have an orgasm has returned. It was a very pleasant surprise :-) Unfortunately, I've been experiencing pretty severe short term memory problems with Serzone. I'm going to try it for another few weeks to see if this side effect goes away on it's own and to see if it improves my mood.
