Zoloft

Posted by lou on January 18, 1999, at 17:00:43

I have been taking Zoloft for about 3 months for obsessive compulsive disorder. I was wondering if Zoloft is even the right drug. I have had some side effects, weight gain (10 pounds), and insomnia. I don't feel that this is working!
Any suggestions?!

Please let me know about Zoloft

I have noticed insomnia or a "wired" feeling more after starting the Zoloft but I occasionally had it before. I don't know if it is the Zoloft so the doc put me on 2.5mg Zyprexa to take at 8pm and I have had good sleep. I don't know how long I will continue on Zoloft if this weird feeling continues since it has also had positive effects for me (decreased mood swings, decreased headaches). Good luck.

Is Zoloft more likely to cause insomnia than other SSRIs? I have been having trouble sleeping after taking 50mg Zoloft/day for 5 weeks. If it has benefits for you, maybe your Psydoc could try another SSRI that had a less bothersome side effect profile for you.

I decreased the Zoloft to 25mg and have lost the "wired" feeling and have been able to sleep better. Somewhere between 25mg and 50mg would be
a good place!
