I don't get this. I also read a study that said that taking Ritalin orally does not produce addiction because there is not an immediate "high". Apparently a slow release is important. Wonder if tolerance is also less likely with slow release ritalin.

Smells like two separate entities, my dear; hence, the two separate reactions.
Do narcoleptics become tolerate to the heavy-duty stimulants they *must* take in order to stay awake? None that I know of. But this is not to say that this doesn't happen.
