Was looking for anyone who has had success with this medication for panic/gad disorders.
Was diagnosis with mixed emotional disorder first after having several bouts of panic attacks.
Have tried all the TCA's but cannot tolerate the side effects mostly racing heart.
The SSRI's were of not much help and even as much side effects in other ways.
Currently taking an older benzo tranxene with a low dose of Effexor XR. it seems to help but having some side effects either from the Effexor or Pravachol i take for elevated cholesterol. Weight gain and sexual problems now and some joint pain which is common with both. Had hear neurtonin was a possible subsitute for the effexor, but a bit leary and looking for information.

Give it try. It starts to work fairly quickly. You should know within a week or two if it's helpful for you. It definitely helped my anxiety, but over 200mg a dose it causes memory problems. >
