Hi,
Is there a relation between alpha adrenergic receptors and anxiety?.
Today I got up (took some vitamins, 200mg SAM-e I found left and SJW) and went to do some frustrating work (paying bills, waiting in line, etc). It seems each time I have less tolerance. I returned home and felt tired, weak, with no strengh to "face the world". I tend to go to bed when this happens.
I had some food and another vitamin (midday). I was still feeling bad and thinking in takin some xanax. Instead I took some naphazoline. I got a relief (I think it was the naphazoline and not the vitamis, but who knows). As a result, I got out of bed in few minutes.
Is this possible?. Can an alpha 1 agonist relieve anxiety and weekness?.
Sorry to post this soap opera but I am trying to get clues to help me find the right medication.
I would have tried Adrafinil if I could get it from my usual mail order service.
Thanks

If you don't mind my asking, how did you take the naphazoline? Eye-Drops?
Thanks.

Hi
Under the tongue. I have experimented this way a few times.
Never tried into eyes. I do not like the idea.
I have tried it as nasal drops from which I got the impession it worked for more than congestion.

nostrils, and under the tongue. Soon started feeling something 'unusual' but not sure what.
Perhaps the cognition enhanced. Like sitting in front of a computer doing something and at the
same time being able to pay close attention to TV like never before. I would say it's a kind of
a smart drug. Maybe close to what people experience on Vasopressin. I have not tried it, do not
know. Without delay repeated in eyes/nose/tongue again. Waited a little and decided to do it
once more. I overdosed quite a bit, got headache soon and went to bed ...
The bottom line - may be useful for specific events whenever good attention/concentration is
required. And it's being relatively cheap and readily accessable - a good quality too :)J.L.
